Errors solved while installing Spotify on Ubuntu (Linux)

I am currently runing linux (ubuntu). Decided to install spotify and ran into a few problems but now since i have the answers i thought about putting them down so that someone else in the same place would get some better help.

If you download spotify from here http://www.spotify.com/no/help/faq/wine/ and follow along with the instructions then your on the right path.

1) My first problem i ran into was the file froze when it was downloaded. Everything else responded by the spotify.exe file. Tried a couple of things it did not work. Restarting was the solution of this one. :)

2) Second problem was i could not execute the file as it was not an executable file. This is at least what the system said. Here is the error i got. I replace my pc name with #### but other than that it should be pretty much the same.

The file '/home/####/Desktop/Spotify Installer.exe' is not marked as executable. If this was downloaded or copied from an untrusted source, it may be dangerous to run. For more details, read about the executable bit

If you go through the net there is lots of stuff about changing the executable status. The most simplist way would be to right click on the file -> properties -> permissions -> allow executing file as a program. This should work.
